Farewell

It was a matter of time
for me to realize
that I am just your sometimes —
was never prioritized.
It was always implied,
Baby, you don’t have to lie.
In my mind a question resides,
it only starts and ends with ‘why?’.
Of course, you don’t recognize
what’s hidden behind my smile.
Now I have to apologize,
but I think it’s about time;
my tears have already dried
before I could even say goodbye.
